New Direct DET Offering – Yearlong Direct DET

BNSF will be offering Yearlong Direct DETs. These will be governed by rules tariff BNSF 4022, Item 13505, with the exception of the below differences, noted in bold.:

  • If a Yearlong Direct DET is cancelled before twelve (12) loaded waybills are generated, there will be a cancellation charge of $400 per car for every trip not fulfilled against the twelve (12) loaded waybill requirement.

Out of the 30 total Direct DETs running throughout crop year 2026/2027, BNSF will offer five (5) as Yearlong Direct DETs. 25 will be offered as regular Direct DETs with a 4-month commitment. Auction dates and starting shipping periods for these will be announced in the coming weeks.
